This weekend workshop will guide you through a series of hand-stitching exercises and into the process of creating a fabric memory. Using only fabric scraps, a needle, and embroidery thread, you will translate a personal photograph into a small, tactile textile piece.

Participants will use their own photographs as inspiration, learning how to interpret images through colour, texture, and stitch.

Memories are powerful, and there are many ways to hold on to them. Today, the phone is often the main tool we use to capture fleeting moments. While we may scroll through countless photos, the feelings connected to those moments can fade over time. One meaningful way to remember special times and places is to transform your favourite images into hand-stitched fabric pieces.

By slowing down to choose colours, textures, and stitches, you may be surprised by how vividly your memories return. These small textile works become tactile keepsakes that bring moments back to life each time you see or touch them.

Supplies to Bring:
- Paper copies of personal photographs, cropped to 5×5 or 6×6 inches
- A bag of fabric scraps: a variety of cottons (plain and patterned), as well as silky or sheer fabrics (such as scarves)
