Semiahmoo Arts is thrilled to host Belinda's Connection Cafe. A free event for seniors 55+, to socialize with neighbours and partcipate in arts-related activities.

Due to it's popularity in other communities, pre-registration is suggested to save your spot and let us know how many to expect. If you cannot make it please let us knwo so we can open you spot up to the next person, thank you.

Lyn’s been part of the arts community for 30+ years, with art education from Douglas and Kwantlen Colleges and a background in performing and visual arts. Lyn’s current art practice is hand-dyeing natural fabrics and in being conscious of the environment, she also upcycles thrifted clothing and accessories. An artist-educator with the Surrey Art Gallery since 2008, she was awarded a BC Culture Days Ambassador position in 2017, representing the City of Surrey. Lyn was Cöordinator for the Youth Arts Council of Surrey from 2015 to 2023. In 2022, she created the free seniors art workshops, Belinda’s Connection Café and that same year, The Surrey Board of awarded Lyn the Cultural Ambassador Award at their annual Arts & Business Awards.

During August of 2024, Lyn was chosen as one of the Artists in Residence at Darts Hill Garden, where she engaged the public in her ‘AiR of Positivity’ silk project.

Lyn is looking forward to creative engagement with the arts community through the Semiahmoo Arts Society.
